Re: MRE "Grab Bags" for sale

Hey for anyone else following this thread, I just wanted to pipe up and say that Treesuit sent me a box of *Excellent* MRE goodies. Got here in a timely manner and the USPS didn't mangle it! :)

Re: Odd MRE on eBay

What do you think the market would be for "counterfeit" MRE's, kman? I would wager pretty hot, myself. It would be interesting to buy it, open it, and get all forensic on the contents. :) Is it just me or does the MRE in this eBay auction look odd: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=...

I'll vouch for her too. I've bought numerous MRE bits from her, and she's always been courteous, charges reasonable shipping, and ships darn quick.

MREs are kind of funny like that - you end up saving what you think is the worst one for when you're most desperately hungry and then you find out that it's actually pretty good. I've never had a problem with the Bean and Rice Burrito - only had a couple of them but they're pretty good with the pic...

MRE temperature torture test

I decided that once I got in to hoar...er...collecting MRE's, that I wanted to see for myself what kind of temperature torture a USGI MRE could take. Victim: #19 Roast Beef w/ Vegatables (2004) Method: Placed in the wife's trunk for 372 days, always parked outside, including a rather nasty spate of ...

Not yet. I haven't gone through all of it, since it's just the wife and I (she doesn't mind the salt). I'll get a snapshot this evening or next and share. :)

Hi obscurotron - welcome to the forums! Like Ration Man said...put the tray ration down and back away slowly... :-) Seriously, though, I think Wornick and the other MRE producers are always coming up with new varieties of MRE entrees and tray rations. They probably produce short-run batches of thes...

Us knowlegable ones must get the word out! Private MRE sales aren't a waste of resources, they're preventing a waste of resources! Bah, who's gonna believe a little circle of crackpots like us? Actually i read that military report that was linked to and several of the case studies did say th...

Peanut-buttery treat

I had a #13 Cheese Tortellini for lunch today.

Among other things, it had the standard crackers, peanut butter and peanut butter M&M's.

Take a cracker, put about 1/2 the PB on it, toss on 6-10 Peanut Butter M&M's and enjoy. Decent desert. :)
