Re: looking for freeze dried strawberries

While my memory isn't infallible it seems to me there were FD strawberries in the earliest MRE iterations, about the same time frame as the FD pork pattie and Ham & Chicken Loaf. There was some strangeness and jiggery pokery going on in those days, menu items didn't always tally up with what they we...

Re: 2005 Pork Rib MRE Review

Where do you think they got the "Pork Ribs" from? They re-hydrated all those rejected FD pork patties sitting in a warehouse somewhere, ha ha. Seriously though, some of the menus are derivative or obviously "old wine in new bottles" in the sense they mix and match recipes. I like the "Pork Rib" it's...

Re: Moist Towelette — Hand Sanitizer — Disinfectant

Oh, it's deadly no doubt. The politicization is clearly on the part of those clamoring for permanent lockdowns and wearing masks inside our homes and the rest of it. The The studies are showing dust masks provide some protection if infected individuals wear them, but that it is "statistically insign...

Re: Moist Towelette — Hand Sanitizer — Disinfectant

I'm pretty sure any virus will last more or less indefinitely. They don't go away. They are identified, catalogued, and tracked. The "Spanish Flu" that killed millions in 1918 is still around today. If you haven't got it yet, you probably will. Roughly half of Americans are going to contract it. May...

Re: 1992 Tuna noodles

No, no no! lol, I was there in 1992 ... and the Tuna & Noodles was a nice cream color.

When the little bottles of Tabasco started appearing, that was a big hit. Everybody thought that was the coolest thing.

Lead solder. Outlawed at some point right in that time period. Thing is, the lead seams are probably the only part that won't actually fail, other than the toxicity. There are different quality can linings available in cans, and the food will last a lot longer in the better quality linings. "Store b...

Re: Moist Towelette — Hand Sanitizer — Disinfectant

Are the cases surging or just the testing has increased? I know we're all 9 months into a "2 week flatten the curve so the hospitals don't become overwhelmed" thing, so forgive my skepticism. I know it's dangerous, it does kill people. But the whole thing has a really bad odor.

Re: 2009 Tuna MRE Review

"If it's good, they will stop making it" seems to hold true with MRE. When the Cider first appeared I was not happy. Consequently I saved up quite a few of them. I learned to like it, so much that I determined it was a mistake to delete that. I have a half dozen maybe from a recent case purchase tha...

Re: 1993 Omelet with Ham MRE Review

A lot of people did not care for that menu. It was not my first choice, that's for sure. I believe it was nicknamed "Vomelet - w/ Potatoes R Rotten" . I didn't mind it too much, because it was filling. Eggs stick to the gut and leave a feller feeling full for a while. And they were almost edible, pa...
