Re: MRE Meet Up 2019 August 17th!
Thanks for spearheading this Bob and volunteering the space. I don't know about the cigar bar since I stopped smoking (I never say quit, cause my folks didn't raise a quitter!) you better have ample cold storage for good beer or a kegerator. Beer is always the best ingredient to mask the taste of le...

Re: Missed opportunities
When I used to use ebay to procure rations I once got sniped in the last 10 seconds for a ration bundle. It happens. After that, I always went straight to "buy now" or contacted the seller for a "buy now" purchase if he/she had several of the item.

Re: Non MRE Bridgford
"Flavor needs improvement" is the difference between civilian and military. Our mantra was Eat it now, taste it later! HAHA! Besides the longer you are in the field or camping the less your taste buds seem to work which was why when we returned back to the real world crappy chinese food buffets tast...

Re: My Dad's Field Chow Experiences
I can confirm most of this except the Korea stuff. I recall in basic and at AIT doing KP (kitchen police or kitchen patrol depending where you were). My experience was it wasn't a bad gig. Just made for a very long day since you had to be there before breakfast and stayed till the dinner mess was al...

Howdy Jen,
Don't be afraid to toss some seasoning and spices on that stuff. Any flavor or enjoyment you can get out of a ration is pure magic.
Cheers

Re: Items you wish were mre but never have and or never will be one
I would want Kimchi, white sticky rice, furikake seasoning, with maybe some chicken or beef. Mix all together and sigh of contentment.

Yeah, custom mre and the rations produced by blackdog surplus have been kinda merged into MRE Nation, and you are right there is a ton of stuff on it. https://mrenation.com/

Bridgford Foods Naan
Hey all, Not necessarily an MRE review but a neat potential component. Naan leavened flat bread, I happen to love the stuff whenever I am eating ethnic cuisine from the middle east, asia and india. I tried it right out of the packet, 20 seconds in the microwave and then in the toaster....instead of ...

Crayons Ready to Eat (CRE)
I saw this while scrolling through instagram on mregold's post. Really gave me a good laugh and could make for a real good stocking stuffer for the holidays or heck even for young kids interested in MREs. And no, I'm not affiliated with them at all except as a customer. https://crayonsreadytoeat.com...
