Re: please share DEALS on shelf stable food
CheaperThanDirt has some rare HDRs in stock: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/MRE-175 I bought one and the pack date is an incredible 5/15/12 ! I've never seen any contract production so fresh before in my life. The packer is Ameriqual and the box was in mint, sealed condition. If you ever wan...

Re: MRE Biscuits
I had one of these last night - pretty good, but I won't pick up a case because of the silly high trans fat content of these biscuits.

Re: 1986 MRE review
Great review...not sure if I would have eaten that entree even when it was new though.
I'm impressed with the FD peaches though. Most reviews of the 1980's FD fruit nowadays tend to comment that the fruit has no flavor anymore!

Re: Ameriqual APack - 9120 - Pasta with Garden Vegetables
Great review, thanks for the pictures! Ameriqual A-Pack meals I'd only ever consider a last resort in a bug-in or wait-it-out style disaster where you're not going to be exerting yourself as much. They're rather low on calories and protein when compared to USGI meals. Another downside factor for th...

Ameriqual APack - 9120 - Pasta with Garden Vegetables
Hello all, I picked a half-set of 6 mispacked APacks from theepicenter last year. Turns out my "mispacked" meal (a Pasta with Garden Vegetables in Tomato Sauce) from the lot was one that was quite a bit older than the others, with the outer pouch showing 9120 and all the inner retorts being older th...

Re: What Is this Ration?
A pineapple pound cake is one of the items of MRE. http://www.troopsupport.dla.mil/subs/support/qapubs/appa/index.asp Table M Component & Classification List. http://www.troopsupport.dla.mil/subs/support/qapubs/appa/table-m.pdf Please see the page 3. Isn't there any printing other than a roll stamp...

Re: some unknown Ration Items
I would not bother with the cheese spreads - they are going to be well past disgusting by now. The nut cakes MAY be okay. Some people report rancid nuts, and others report cakes as fresh as the day they were made. I think there would be a few people on this forum very interested in the nut cakes and...

Re: some unknown Ration Items
Fruitcake is DoP 1983. (It was in Menu #9 of MRE I-V) It was off the MRE menus by 1988. Orange nut cake is DoP 1982 - again, long gone from the MRE menu by 1992. Maple nut cake is DoP 1989. The balance of the nut cake production ended around 1993 and was replaced with the pound cakes then. My guess ...
MRE XXXII
Haven't seen it posted here yet, but here are the menus for MRE XXXII (2012) http://www.troopsupport.dla.mil/subs/support/specs/acrs/m032.pdf Too many small changes for me to summarize without taking all night - lots of menus switched places too. New entrees: Mexican style chicken stew, asian beef s...

Re: 2009 Australian PR1M Menu B
Wow, great review!! That certainly looks like a day's worth of food. I love the tube food that the Australian rations come with. Chocolate cream in a tube - yum. I wish they sold that sort of thing at retail everywhere. Are the fruit grains like little bits of fruit leather from your description? Fr...
