Re: Pizza MRE Won't Debut Until 2018

Re: What would you put in your Bug out Bag?
No insult taken. I've had to deal with the "why be ready" types too much over the years. It seems the only thing that penetrates is to show them government backing for what you are saying. (I was a nurse and paramedic in another life) In the boots department I've had good luck with the Bellevilles. ...

Re: What would you put in your Bug out Bag?
Treesuit my comments were for the guy putting the idea down. In between summer and winter storms we avg 10 months with power a year. I'm big on non perishable items and old tech solutions. In a bail out situation the snivel gear is one of the first things dropped. I like MREs and have them around fo...

Re: Utility Knife unknown blade use.
Corned beef I like. Sardines are out of the question after getting snowed in for three weeks at a friends hunting cabin that was "stocked with enough food for a year". It was too if you could live on sardines in mustard and ships crackers. That was thirty years ago and I still shudder when I pass th...

Re: Utility Knife unknown blade use.
I'm trying to find an answer for an online friend. It's round with a slightly rounded tip. there is a slot about one inch deep that goes all the way through. Some of the guys on the board it was posted on thought it might be to open the old style cans that used a key. I thought I would post it on he...

Utility Knife unknown blade use.
Recently acquired, it's made by SMF in Solingen Germany and has all the hallmarks of a fine Swiss army style knife, however the outer case is stainless and nicely finished. The remaining blades don't really provide me a clue (large blade, can opener, corkscrew, awl, screwdriver/bottle opener and sma...

Re: Design your favorite ration
FSR's would be nice. Soup mixes and good brew selections are a must especially with cold weather coming on. I'm a firm believer in as light weight as possible. If it weighs too much I don't care how good and nutritious it is it will be dumped. The same goes for bulk. The bulkier it is the more will ...
