I should have added that the Yorkie bars, along with other British and sometimes Australian bars, are available at Cost Plus World Market stores. Don't know if they are everywhere in the U.S., but they are in the Northwest at least. First thing I always seem to open in my British ration packs seem t...

FYI I just had a Canadian "Green Pepper Beef" 2001 and I can highly recommend it as perhaps the best tasting ration I have ever had; of course it is slightly sweet, similar to Teriyaki, which some don't like. Amazingly fresh though, as no matter how long Water Chestnuts are in canned food, they are ...

And the older (late '90's, maybe a little later) British rations had not only 6, but 8 big sugar packs! (It is said that the British like thier tea very sweet)
I don't know, I just know that I don't like Coca-Cola warm.
But overall, British rations are my favorite

movie "Tremors 3" MRE scene

Saw a scene starring MRE's in Tremors 3 where survivalist Michael Gross and friends escape the killer creature by locking themselves into his MRE storage bunker. Unfortunately the creature has taken over his weapons bunker....but no matter, the humans are locked behind a steel door; maybe they can o...

kman wrote: "So what'd you think of the newer HDRs, rational? Did you try any of them out?" -------------- sorry kman I hadn't been watching for your reply - These seem perfectly fresh even though made in Feb 2003. And these were menu "C" so they had the max amount of food crammed in: 2 entrees (des...

Yummy, I agree. They should include a little packet of grated Parmesan to put on it. And I just add half a can of stewed Italian tomatos. Wornick: Yummy Sopacko: Yummy Ameriqual: Why is it orange? And in one giant clump, instead of a sauce? Like other Ameriqual MRE's I've tried, this one just didn't...

Thanks for the heads-up Big Mark - and you know, I just tried another IMP drink mix and really liked this one - so I can recommend the Orange-Pineapple definately. Had it with my all-time favorite IMP "Bread" and peanut butter packs, great.

Hello Garron,
Pound cake AND spiced apples is a great find! Yes the apples are great even when 7 years old! (I actually like my '99 ones better than the fresh ones)
Congratulations,
rational (big fan of British rations)

Another good one is the canned bread made by B&M (you can find it in the market near the baked beans. It keeps forever, and even after opening, will keep a long time. Just hope you like molasses; it's the old Boston steamed bread recipe.

Hate to call you dirtbag, but thanks dirtbag for the NASA link! Yes apparently most of the entrees are retort packaged (no mention of Country Captain Chicken) and apparently crumbs are the biggest problem, so tortillas have been a staple for 20 years now. Also mentioned is that salt & pepper is susp...
