MRE Update

On the White House news conference today which I saw on CNN; Bush said the DOT is mobilizing 400 trucks and 5,400,000 MREs are being sent to the area along with other supplies. This translates into 450,000 cases.

They are also sending blankets, cots, medical supplies, etc, etc.

Wow, that's one astounding temperature! It has to be a website typo, I just C&P'd the info - either that or the MRE is heated competely in about 2 seconds and they come in ceramic pouches! :shock:

twobravo - it's a well-known "fact" that eating "stolen" rations leads to wanting to own a .50cal HMG or driving a Corvette - which will of course lead to some other apocalyptic event. :shock: .... and so it goes ....

Mirage, I can assure you that the sale of IMPs contravenes about 6 sections in the NDA, it is clearly illegal. Sub unit commanders do not, and have never had the authority to do so. Unused ration are returned to CQ, and are disposed of. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to your experience in these ...
