Welcome!
Welcome to the new MREInfo news section!
Every day it seems I run across some new interesting article or website on MREs and ration-related stuff. I usually read it, bookmark it, or save it for “later use” - which usually means it gets filed away for that mythical time in the future when I’ll have the free time to integrate the new bit of info into the web site. But I’ve had to admit to myself that this mythical time will never arrive and all this good info I have saved up is just sitting there on my PC. So why not let it sit here on the Internet and at least other people will be able to make use of it.
So I’m giving this a try. I’ll be adding in whatever looks fun. Hope you like it.
Great job, always enjoy reading about the MRE’s. You have been doing a fantastic job bro! Keep up the good work!

Your site has given me a ton of info on some of our world’s current military rations. I have just gotten a case of some Breakfast/lunch Canadian IMP’s, but sadly i need to get a darn digital camera so I can take some pictures.
I am getting 4 British 24 hour rations in the mail sooner or later.
I have some 1999 Mil-Spec “MRE’s” but those are just horrible. :D
But yeah dude this site is awsome, and for the past couple weeks I’ve been coming on this site to see the new stuff thats always added.
I’m kinda strange, I collect military medical kits (Of all times, WW1 - Current).
And I also spend like $400 a year on MRE’s and stuff.
Which by the way, are British rations any good? Im anxious as hell to get em, and I am just wonderin.
Well, great site, and I will visit all the time! :D

Thanks for the comments, Steve - I’m glad you like the site. Are the British rations any good? I have a bunch of them myself but I haven’t tried any yet - I’ll get around to it one of these days. I’ve read reports from other people that they really like them. Personally, I’m not sold on the 24-Hour Ration Pack as being vastly better than the MREs - looking at everything in one box that’s intended for one day, it just doesn’t seem like as much food as you’d get in three MREs or even three IMPs. I think maybe if you were living on MREs for weeks at a time, British and Canadian rations would be a welcome change of pace. But having to live off one British ration pack per day…I’m not so sure.

I think IMP’s are alright, but the Breakfast/Lunch box I got isnt that good in a way.
With IMP Entrees, I think they are a little better than some MRE entrees are.
But IMP’s dont really come with a dessert unless you count this little hard candy you get.
There arent any heaters or any way to heat them up except if you count the matches in the ones I got.
The side dishes are Fruit Cocktail, Pineapple Tidbits in Heavy Syrup, Sliced Peaches, Sliced Pears… basically alot of fruit.
You also get this little loaf of bread called “Bread”… nice & simple… ehhehe.
There is also Trident jam-packed full of good ol’ asparatame (Asparatame = Brain Tumors).
The Breakfasts are good, but really high in fat, and not really healthy. “Breakfast sausage” “Sausage and Hashbrowns”. There are 2 Entrees that arent AS bad (Fat grams are lower, protien is higher). They are Ham in Mustard sauce and the Scalloped Potatoes and Ham.
But the most disgusting sounding one is a entree called “Omlette with Mushroom Sauce”… I feel bad for the Canadian soldiers that have to eat this thing, and it only has 250 calories, not very effective as a military ration entree.
IMP’s have nice big and long spoons though at least, and big nice paper towels.
Here is a list of stuff that I got in my case of IMP’s:
Scalloped Potatoes & Ham
Ham With Mustard Sauce
Sausage & Hashbrowns
Breakfast Sausage
Omlette With Mushroom Sauce
Wieners & Beans in Tomato Sauce
Bread
Cinnamon Sugar Flavoured Oatmeal Cereal
Bannana Flavoured Oatmeal Cereal
Oatmeal Cereal with coconut powder on it (Cant remember the name)
Strawberry Drink Powder
Passion Fruit Drink Powder
Cherry Drink Powder
Orange Pineapple Drink Powder
Mango Drink Powder
Assorted types of Trident
Sliced Pears
Sliced Peaches
Fruit Cocktail
Sliced Pineapple
Instant Coffee
Sugar Packets (about 2 times bigger than ours)
Creamer
Hot Chocolate
Hot Cocolate Ameretto
“TasteTations” hard candy
“Campino” Straberry cream hard candy
Grape, Strawberry, Orange Marmalade, and Rasberry Jelly/Jam
Ketchup
Matches
Toothpicks
Peanut Butter
Thats all the stuff I can remember thats in a case of Breakfast/Lunch 04′ IMP’s
