MRE beginner info

Postby TaraBee120 » Fri Dec 01, 2017 7:36 pm

Hi all!! I recently purchased Menu 12 MRE, I'm sure this has been asked but I don't really understand how to check the expiration date. I took a pic of the main course just for help. Any help would be much appreciated! :D

It was made the 274th day of 2015 so technically it should be good for another 3-5 years

The "5274" denotes the date of production, so it's what Btemple said. 5 could be 2015, 2005, 1995, or 1985 and the 274 is the day of the year it was made. By process of elimination, we know yours is a 2015 because the 2005, 1995 and 1985 MREs didn't include penne w/ veg sausage.
