They don't want the aircraft to suddenly explode for some strange reason.

Like the container explosion in Guam some years back?

I have a question about the current Chi-Com MRE's. They have the model 9 green bag, which seems to be a typical single meal, then they have the model 13 tan bag, which is somewhat larger and 2 mains complete with heaters, but except for a tiny vegetable side, and 1 drink powder, nothing else in the #13. I've seen the smaller 'Fast Food' Chi-Com packs. Whats the deal on how they issue these? Maybe a 2 day plan, with 2 each fast-food and 2 each 09 single meals, a 1 13 for back-up?
After the Chicken and the Egg, came the "Omelet"!

The nutrition facts on the back both 09 and 13 state that one pack provide around 5000kj Calorie,
I guess it's technically design to feed a man for a day...?
I believe the hole punched on the bag make them "defected" which allow them legally resell to civilian.

these's new pic for the new PLA ration, type 17
looks like it is one of the prototype for the next gen PLA ration
similar to type 09, with one main plus accessories
and a SPORK

Thank you for the sharing. :D
They are very interesting pictures.
I think that the menu of Type 17 is progressing from Type 13.
However, I think that there is too much carbohydrate too.(It's the same as that of JSDF.)

I'm curious about this; I recently saw a review of a Chinese PLA ration on you tube and it included a questionnaire for soldiers to fill out telling what they liked and did not like about the ration and what could be improved in the ration/what they'd like to see added or removed. I assumed it was a fake video because I did not think the PLA gave it's troops that option. Does anyone know if the questionnaire is really included in any of the rations?
