Hi BigMark. I'm not quite following you. What name? You can't get your email address? I can see your email address when I click on "email" on your message posting.

Oh wait...I just saw what you're talking about - some registered with the name "buy triphasil online". Oh well...just another loser spammer trying to schlep their prescription shit. Into the trash bin that account goes...

Ok, that user is taken care of. That's one of the problems with running these things - the spammers. I'm just counting my lucky stars that they haven't been too bad in the forums (yet). Back when I was maintaining the News section of the site with blogging software, the damn spammers were a constant pain in the ass - to the point where I had to lock out every article from comments and then go back and delete a ton of crap they managed to post. Oh well...that's just part of the fun, I guess!

well, I was looking at my name, so I couldn't see the email button.. now that I see it, I'm just glad you're on top of booting those guys.. who would even bother naming their account "buy penis pills" or something.. like that isn't a dead giveaway.

The thing I don't get is how they're trying to drive people to their websites. I took a look at whatever details they entered into their accounts and I didn't see any web links. So I'm not sure what they were getting out of it except for a spammish name.

Internet Crime Complaint Center

If anyone purports to commit a cybercrime don't hesitate to report them to the proper authorities.

I've had problems with spam lately. And my service provider has been lax over controlling it. I even complained to them to no avail. But now I use a service like the ICCC to rid myself of the inordinate amount of time it takes to purge unwanted phishing e-mails. I can tell you after using a similar (not this one) service that it does work to remove the bastards. May they burn in hell, or grow up.

Either Way;

I guess were pretty lucky this site isn't the most popular on the net, those forums get spammed with porn every 5 mins.

If a forum is getting hit with spam, they're not doing a good job of administering their board.

Well, its not that their moderators aren't good, its the fact that the spam bots have the forum locked in their sights, and manage to register a new account in less then 5 seconds, posting a new thread with "Hello I am new" or "Enlarge your organ, dvd sale"
