Russian IRP or bad impulse purchase?

Postby fatoutdoors » Thu Aug 03, 2017 1:27 am

So I'm tooling around the usual areas and come across this thing.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-x-Russian-Arm ... SwJ4hY-QvU

Pulled the trigger out of curiosity. So in the spirit of leap then look.. did I just order some crap in a box or a real IRP from one of Russia's many IRP producing government agencies? I looked around hoping to find a better image of the text I could run through translate but havn't found what I'm looking for yet.

Thanks

Sully

P.S. And Yeah I had come across this company in other threads on here.. Kind of why I only bought the one and the cheap on at that. :D

That's a civilian ration.

Awesome sauce. To good to be true.. It is. Guess they chuck the words military/defense force on it and any old sucker will bite. Pardon me while I go get this hook out of my lip.

:)

Ah well might as well try it out.

Hope this doesn't spoil the surprise when you open it... :D

Here's a link to that item on the website of the producer.
https://spec-pit.ru/catalog/sukhie_payk ... hutochnyy/

I found it a while ago, when I was looking up some other rations they make.

I normally open the Russian sites in Google Chrome.
It does a reasonable job of translating the webpages on the fly.

There is also some info on that site describing the company that produces this one,
and all the other rations on there.

Looks like they are primarily commercial, as SNiiP3R says.

However, if you believe what it says on their website, they do appear
to supply some un-named government agencies.

Forgot to add...

This is a look inside one.
Although it's also in Russian. :D

Thanks for the links and info, super useful. Yeah the seller is definitive playing fast and loose with the description. I'll give my take on it when I get it. Might be perfectly fine. Although I definitely overpaid for this thing. Even at the 23 dollar mark.

If you look carefully almost every Russian IRP of any kind is Russian Army IRP on Ebay so this seller isn't that different from any other. And the chance is you overpaid for every Russian IRP you have purchased by now, if that makes you feel better :D

Good thing this is only my second ever. 23 bucks shipped to the US isn't bad. Overseas shipping can be outrageous. Besides on of my favorite saying is "You can be an shining example or a horrible, horrible reminder." Today I'm the reminder. ;)

Any chance I can trade you some US MRE's for a Croatian ration.

I confirm this is a civil / commercial IRP.
In Russia, the ration becomes army, if the producer / supplier or supplier has won the tender and has signed a contract. In this case, the ration must fully comply with the technical task.
"SpetzPit" is a large manufacturer of IRP.

Thanks for the info. Will be interesting to try a commercial IRP. Although knowing that the thing costs about 6 dollar US in Russia is a bit of a burn.
