I think quite a few UK army 24hr rat packs come with a tube of fruit puree (Fruit Pocket is the name on them). They are actually really tasty - predominantly of apple.

The Menu 15 I just bought at a 1940's weekend event, has one of these tubes, and also a tube of 'Squidge' - which is a chocolate and hazelnut paste - Nutella basically.

I've been meaning to reply to this thread for a while, but finally got around to it. Wanted to mention that IKEA stores have a couple tube foods. They have (or at least used to have) a tube of salmon spread that was delicious! I haven't seen it lately, but they do currently have something called Kalles, which is creamed smoked roe. It's pretty strong stuff and apparently popular in Sweden. I like the Salmon paste better, but a little bit of the Kalles seems to go a long way (kind of like vegemite I guess).

More recently I found a Russian website that sells what it's billing as genuine space food! While this is a commercial version, it's still a pretty awesome thing for people who have always wanted to try out "real" space food, but figured they'd never get the chance. The company is called simply Space Food, and their website is https://food-for-space.com/

I was lucky enough to get a sample of six tubes to review from them. I got Borsch, Rassolnik, Meat Puree (my favorite, despite the sound of the name), Pork with Vegetables, Cottage Cheese with Blackcurrant Puree and Cottage Cheese with Sea Buckthorn Puree. They were all good, and a VERY interesting example of tube foods to try out!

Here's my video about them (sorry, it's on the long side):

Gschultz, something what is wondering me is the contents of the tubes - as I could read from the labels - there are NO preservatives inside. Maybe the packaging/heating process is enough, but it is unusual.
