There is an FV432 as well. Thats like our version of the M113.
Command vehicles have a roof extension
I bet this is similar to what you saw RT

the new German Puma IFV looks good too. Its 42 tons, second only to the Namer in western IFV heavyweights.
Both are going to be armed with SPIKE missiles too.

This is excellent recycling of the T54/5 series

The achzarit heavy APC. They seem to have created a rear exit path avoiding the engine compartment.

Russia is doing similar with their old T54/5s

The IDF has also converted several hundred old centurions (Shot) into a heavy APC

and a big number of specialised conversions for engineering etc.

Seems a good idea. Why have IFVs/APCs that have the protection of a coca cola can?

The Marder (marten) is a very capable and ahead of its time IFV. First designed in raely 60s, it was the first western APC that could fight a BMP with its high power 20mm auto cannon remotely controlled. Later it had missile armament too. 30 tons, 10 pzrgrdrs + 2 crew.

Although the Marder and Warrior vehicle series are much better made than the BMP series, with my claustrophobia, I'd still have a hard time riding in one! My ultimate nightmare would be a malfunctioning NBC system inside a buttoned up vehicle and having to wear full chem suit and mask.

Quite right Housil. I put down the original spec from the early 60s, not the final design. I forgot about the turret too. 2 crew assigned to operate that.

Did they have functioning rifle ports Ollie? Or had the ports been covered with extra armour by the mid 80s?

The Marten is a very clean vehicle, and not that too well known, it was never exported I dont think. Chile is buying a couple hundred I read recently though.
It looks great and was the best and probably the safest IFV/APC in the 70s-80s IMHO. Nice bus.
