Heater Meal Scrambled Eggs w/ Bacon slices

Post by housil » Fri Jun 25, 2010 9:30 am

I got some new to me Heater Meals:

Image
Hearty Scrambled Eggs with Bacon slices

Mrs. Housil is at work, so a nice opportunity to give it a try for lunch (I know it´s actually a breakfast dish - but not over here  )

Image
inside the box...

Image
...lot´s of items

Image
To my own surprise, Mountain House freeze Dried with extra water

Image
instructions

Image
The freeze dried egg powder

Image
after adding the water and well-shaking - still liquid??

Image
The egg pouch and bacon together in the FRH

Image
The bacon is a little bit to long to fit into the FRH bag

Image
after heating the recommanded 12 min

Image
The cooking process "clogged" the liquid egg in to a "solid" texture

Image
I added the seasoning, the salt but not the "red devil" bag

Image
Bon Appetit ("Mahlzeit")

Image
The first impression of the texture after heating was like "mashed potatoes"

I can highly recommand that meal. It was an absolutly delicious dish, the eggs and bacon was hot after heating 12 min with the FRH.

Nice Olli!!! :D
I like to use powdered eggs for cooking. In an emergency situation they are good. My wife doesn't like them so when I use them I usually mix them with the regular eggs and she eats it this way....
I see that it has plenty of food on that package.
