This pick of a gyro spit is from about.com:greekfood

Damn similar to German_EPAs picture, if you ask me. Or even if you don't!

According to the Wikipedia, the doner kabob is a variant of the gyro adapted to German tastes.

i did it! i had döner kebap for lunch and gyros for dinner today. i asked my "dönerman" today about döner and gyros. its to long to tell you all he said - short: gyros and döner are not the same... 8)
