UGR H&S On Ebay

Post by cavguy » Sun Jun 11, 2017 2:48 pm

Just wanted to give everyone a head up, there are a few complete 50 person UGR Heat and Serve units on Ebay. Looks like production dates are 2013/2015ish. These are pretty rare to find complete, priced pretty high at $300! Although, it does look like shipping is included in the price.

If anyone is curious, IMO the best one is probably going to be the Pasta & Meatballs With Brown Gravy.

Wow, why are they worth so much? There is a vendor at the Green Mountain Military Vehicle Collectors' annual show, coming up in a few weeks in Waterbury, VT, who sells these every year for $50 each. I bought one from him last year, all he had left were breakfast kits, the regular ones sold out fast.

I am guessing the seller is "fishing" as far as pricing is concerned! When I have seen these locally the complete units usually sell for from $50-$100ea.

These are new to my rookie MRE/Rations knowledge base... shelf like similar to regular MRE's? I echo Travelowl sentiments, why sooooo pricey?

The UGR-H&S option has a minimum shelf life of 18 months at 80 degrees F.

In my experience, these last about as long as MRE's when stored properly. They are highly susceptible to heat stress too. See my comment above in relation to pricing.
