Re: CIGS: Long term storage

thanks for the info. I was also thinking of a using a vacuum bag. We have a handi-vac made by Reynolds Co. They are plastic bags with a seal and a port to suck out the air. They used to be 10 bucks, now about 3.50 at Wal-mart and the bags are right next to the unit where all foil and bags are sold. ...

CIGS: Long term storage

Anyone know how to maybe preserve CIG PACKS over a long time? I know from time to time in Texas the state sales tax stamp changes color to keep track of rotation of fresh packS from old. Most of the time the previous color indicates stale cigs or VERY old cigs. I have heard that people put them in t...

Re: but OLD FRH 1St. Generation FRH

thanks for the info, found and read the first OLD FRH post, what I have been doing to use these OLD FRH's up is putting the meal inside a gallon size zip-lock bag wrapping it and then stuffing that into the FRH, that way its not as messy when I pull that out. For now I'm not in a situation where wat...

a-pack Salt Water package - leaking

Just went into the apack 2006 case today. Noticed the Chicken w/ Black Beans & Rice 6200 date inside package all wet . So I pulled it out and opened it. At first I thought the main entry was leaking since the cardboard box had darker colored spots on it and signs of it being wet. After removing all ...

Re: Mountain House Noodles and Chicken Review

Hello, I noticed that both theepicenter and beprepared sites have the #10 cans on sale. They are pretty much the same price and if you go to the Mountain House site they are higher buying direct. I was thinking of just having a can for - JUST BECAUSE! What I did want to ask is how did you open the c...

MICROWAVE OVEN AND MRE

I tried to microwave a MRE today. It didnt seem to heat up. It never even puffed up in which I was expecting when it heated up and was going to punch a small hole to vent out steam while continuing to heat. Well after heating with FRH eating the meal I noticed that the inside has a metal type of coa...

Re: MCWs; do you like them???

So is there a certain place that will sell the MCWs outright or a civilian co?, I see very few and pricey on ebay. I know Acadamy Sports has some Mountain House, but cheaper thru the internet sites. If I'm correct they are dehydrated? Guess being around snow wouldnt be a problem to get em going.

Re: Cheeseburger in a can Part 2

Housil, I'd like to try those foreign rations myself, but just the shipping halts me. I think I'll stick to the local MRE'S for price and looks. By the way You sure took a big bite out of it. Were you hungry or just trying to end it all? Good Pics!

Re: SOPAKCO MRE Review 12-2008

ttompso, I'm a newbie also, but this site has lots of info and I have learned a lot about the MRE's just wandering abouts on it. Really glad I found it right away on the internet. Look or search for "date codes" in this site to get a better explaination about what those numbers mean. You are most in...

Re: gas prices! post your current regular gas price.

Okay here in South Texas I bought it for $1.47 gallon yesterdayt and heard it was for $1.39 gallon somewhere else in town. If it hits $1.00 I will have to stop the smell the roses -- Like There is Something wrong with this picture. Sounds like all these big companies are shutting down laying off peo...
