Re: please share DEALS on shelf stable food

Two non-food but closely related items, available from Amazon: $14.26 eligible for Free Super Saver shipping McNett Tactical Aquamira Frontier Pro Ultralight Water Filter The typical decent price is about $18, and I've often seen it for more than $20. It's not food, but we all need water. :) Name_no...

Re: Battle of the Buckets - freeze-dried/dehydrated food kit

Great articles..I am surprised the AA 14 day bucket has that much more sodium than the AA 7 day kit. I have one 7 day kit and am thinking about purchasing another..Anyway great reviews I'm glad you've found them useful, Bobby, and I'm really looking forward to reading some of your reviews. :) More ...

Re: Battle of the Buckets - freeze-dried/dehydrated food kit

Thanks for all the great encouragement and feedback , guys ! :) Your MRE reviews have been an enormous help to me, particularly when I started my big preps overhaul four years ago. :) I've updated the separate data summary table : http://TurtleNomad.com/food/kits/compare_table.htm The actual kit ro...

Re: MRE Biscuits

I had one of these last night - pretty good, but I won't pick up a case because of the silly high trans fat content of these biscuits. Dang - that never even occurred to me. Yup, my batch does have 4 grams per pouch. :( Thanks for pointing that out mjwise (and for making dirtbag feel better about h...

Re: "kit" review: Alpine Aire 7-day (25 different pouches)

I bought one of these and it arrived yesterday..On the side of the box it states serves one adult over 2000 calories per day..The packages all say 2 servings, at least the few i checked did..I guess they put two servings on the package to show a lower sodium content per serving..I will have to try ...

review: Augason Farms 30-day bucket

This is another in my freeze-dried/dehyrated "kits" series . Here's a condensed summary data table . For years, I've been reading vague info about "30 day buckets". When they first came out, they were widely bashed because they had less calories per day than a starving refugee camp diet. :( The outr...

Re: MRE Biscuits

Houston, we have biscuits! Lots and lots of MRE biscuits! :) The production date stamp is " 1294 3 ", which makes them almost exactly six months old ! :) The box is about 33 x 24 x 57 cm (13 x 10.5 x 22.5 inches), with a volume of about 44 L . Note that it came in the original(?) obviously marked bo...
