Review: Penne Pasta w/Spicy Vegetable Sausage.

Penne Pasta w/Spicy Vegetable Sausage Date Code: 7092 MFG: Menu C Reviewer Rating: 3 [out of 5 stars] Over All Opinion: Not bad, this meal has a nice sweet sausage flavor. The pasta was soft, but not mushy. Sides: - Short Bread Cookie: Nice, crisp and sweet, very good. - Cheese filled pretzels: Bas...

A Case of Menu C's Arrived Today.

Today my first case of Menu C MREs arrived and I couldn't help but to open a couple up. WOW , they pack a lot of snacks into each meal. If I don't want to plump up I'm going to have to spread the snacks out for a couple of days. The variety of both food items and menu choices beats out the MRE-STAR ...

Review: Pasta w/Marinara Sauce and Veggie Crumbles

Pasta w/Marinara Sauce and Veggie Crumbles Date Code: 8085 MFG: International Meals Supply Reviewer Rating: 2.5 [out of 5 stars] Over All Opinion: I assumed I would dislike this dish, being carnivorous I tend to avoid anything vegetarian. I was surprised, it was pretty good. The Veggie Crumbles had...

Does it seem strange to anyone else that they call it "BBQ Sauce w\ Chicken" instead of "Chicken w/ BBQ Sauce"? At first it seemed strange to me also, but the dish is 50% sauce and probably less then 25% chicken, so I believe the title is accurate :) If you have not tried it yet send me a PM I'll s...

Another Reviewers Opinion - [*]

BBQ Sauce w\Chicken, Black Beans and Potatoes Date Code: 8088 MFG: International Meals Supply Reviewer Rating: 1 [out of 5 stars] Over All Opinion: Not to bad, but not my favorite. The meal has plenty of flavor, but a little to much sauce (feels like a stew). This would be an ideal complement for a...

Re: Expired or Damaged Heater Question

The heater appeared to have some of it's contents broken and laying sand-like in the bottom. Sorry to reply to such an old post, but… I placed an order with American Made Survival (really friendly people, btw) and picked up a pack of the "old style FRHs." Unfortunately they have the same issue as t...

So *in theory*... All good advice. I opened a vintage '98 Chili and Macaroni a few days ago; WOW had it gone bad. The color was somewhat off, no "unusually" bad smell, but it had a very strong acrid\bitter taste. Needless to say the entire stock of them was disposed of. Shame, I remember them being...

Dangers of eating really old MREs?

Like many on this board I've eaten 10 year old MREs, but I've often wondered what potential dangers exist when consuming such old food stock. If the bag (retort pouch) is undamaged I would not think there is any chance of bacteria. Definitely some food becomes less appetizing, and the nutritional va...
