Re: Working through your stash

Zed, I feel like they are not mutually exclusive in my case and in probably many of our cases. They work both ways but having them "just in case" generally makes me limit how many I eat and "wins" versus just eating them as a regime. I'm just eating a few of my already loose rations here and there t...

I second smitty. Super awesome. I love the tin foil lined stuff that just states the name and date of it - so utilitarian. Neat! Are the little things with the dinos matchbooks?

Re: What your favorite beverage base or powdered ration drink mix?

@Robin Heum I'm with ya. The lemon lime is probably my favorite out of a US MRE. Not sure if the protein drinks count but the irish cappuccino counts I like that too! @greycheese03 No way! I couldn't stand the stuff but I get it! I can dig that. I agree that modern MRE fruit punch is pathetic. I sor...

What your favorite beverage base or powdered ration drink mix?

Hey everyone, I just popped open a ORP raspberry drink mix one of the little 45g pouches from a recent ORP and I was blown away how good it was when compared to the US MRE beverage bases. That got me thinking about what other drink mixes everyone else enjoys out of their rations. So what's your favo...

"The Gardens of Victory" US WWII Informational Film

Thought this was a cool video I ran across about US Victory Garden effort from WW2. This was a sponsored video from "Better Homes & Gardens" that was reviewed and passed by the Office of Civilian Defense. Love this stuff.

Food Packet Survival General Purpose In Depth Look: 1982, 1988, 1990, 1996 & 1997

Hey all, I've been trying to document the US Food Packet Survival General Purpose to a pretty great extent and have had the opportunity to try out a whole bunch of them trying to see the subtle differences between years and the generational differences. Just thought I'd share for anyone interested t...
