Please specify which toppings you would prefer, and inform me of any food allergies.

If this goes well, I'm thinking of canning Lasagna next.

Canning Burgers

Inspired by this thread: http://www.mreinfo.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5583&p=52667&hilit=cheeseburger#p52667 as well as more recent threads, I thought to myself "Hey, I with a little ingenuity and hard work I too can can ( :D ) a burger for survival rations! So I did: Raw materials: canned1.pn...

I'm the proud owner

. . .of some vintage MREs. I dove into the ebay pool last night, and in my excitement to make my first ebay purchase of MREs I made 2 rookie mistakes - not sticking to my max bid, and not checking the menu dates on here first. After all of 2 minutes of checking this morning, I found I had purchased ...

Re: MRE-like Retort Pouches in Your Local Grocery Store

I was in the store today buying 2 more of these for my extended shelf-life trial, and found one still on the shelf that had a Nov 2016 use buy date. Unlike the other shoppers, finding something expired was right up my alley, so I bought it and ate it for lunch. Southwest style chicken. 270 calories....

All Star Topics?

Hi Everyone. Loving the Site. After reading some of the newer posts and reviews, I've decided to go back and read every topic (if not every single post) from the beginning. Ration Talk/MREs seemed like a good place to start. I'm on page 27 of 31, working backwards from page 31. Many of the pictures ...

Re: SPAM

Last year we had Spam-O-Rama night in my neighbor's garage. He has a larger 2 car garage with a flat screen TV, stereo system, beer fridge, bathroom, compressor, arc welder, etc. etc. and we hang out, drink beer, and fix stuff. About 6 of us sliced and fried up, on an electric skillet, original SPAM...

Any idea of their shelf-life beyond the printed expiration date?
