Re: Varusteleka-Finnish Military Surplus Store

They are a very popular store here in Finland, I've bought stuff from them myself many times. They are usually brutally, and hilariously, honest with their product descriptions (at least in Finnish), so you know what you're getting when ordering from them. If the stuff is falling apart or banged up...

Re: Обстрел в Донецке

A shame that both Minsk I and Minsk II agreements aren't too helpful in this conflict. What's more sad is the lack of attention this conflict is getting along with other conflicts in Yemen, every conflict in Africa, Afghanistan, and heck, even the Syrian Civil is losing attention now, after the Syri...

Varusteleka-Finnish Military Surplus Store

Okay, they might not be exactly new but they're new to me. :?

Here's the link to their main page:Here

They don't have much ration related wise at the moment but they do offer a wide variety of of new/old surplus gear and commercial accessories. They have a large selection of gear from various Eastern bloc and western countries including Finland and Sweden. They have an online store as well has a store located Helsinki. According to their website: "Shipping to Sweden 59 SEK, to United Kingdom 6.99 GBP, to Canada 13.99 CAD and to United States 9.99 USD." I believe in an interview with InRangeTV, it's a flat shipping rate, meaning you can order multiple items with one flat shipping fee.

As mentioned before, they don't have much of anything regarding rations. But, they do sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with surplus mess kits such as the Yugoslav (JNA) mess kit.

If you are in the US or any other country with a pre-existing military surplus market, such as Germany or anywhere in Eastern Europe, you might find products from your domestic country to be more expensive in Finland. Also, many firearm related items including inert shells and non-function guns cannot be shipped internationally  .

Anyone have experience with this store? The website is pretty neat and it looks better than other types of international surplus stores I have seen.

Re: Canning Burgers

Make sure to store them in a cool, dry place. Constant temperature changes and/or higher temperatures may cause the food to spoil much sooner than later.

Re: Ukrainian new ration of a NATO standard

I wonder only why the FRH is Turkish - will it be a regular part of the rations or is it only for show? Turkey is a member of NATO and produces it's own version of MRE rations. They also sell rations on their commercial market. My guess is that Ukraine doesn't have any facilities to manufacture the...

Re: Indian Rations

Don't worry guys. AFTER Gundog reviews one, I will post some for trade. I will make sure I reserve one for each of you. Be cautious of these rations! Farmers tend to give antibiotics to their animals like candy. The same goes with chinese rations too. IF you have a weak immune system or are sufferi...

Re: Shipping!

I prefer hand delivery, I usually walk and swim anywhere in North America. Takes a while, but it's cheap. For Europe and elsewere, I launch my parcels via trebuchet from the East Coast. This tends to work well but calculating the measurements for a precise delivery may take a long time. In al...

They have both chunky and smooth. Here's a pic of two different ones out of 2014 MREs.
