Unfortunately, I think that removing too much fat, sugar and sodium would also remove much of the flavor. Also, proteins tend to break down faster which might limit shelf life, or require the use of additional preservatives.

All I had at Lackland were various shades of gray. Couldn't tell you how warm they were, because I was there in the summer and never needed more than the sheet. Thickness was luck of the draw from the laundry, and with them being laundered a couple of times a month I'm sure they thin out pretty quic...
