Re: Updates to MRE packaging

It is probably important to note here from a real-world perspective... products that expire sooner have to be replaced sooner. Money will be made.

Re: Steve's International Ration Thread

My adventurous taste buds always draw me back to this thread, and any other about Asian rations... I'm old enough, and my stomach is been through enough, that none of these make me terribly leery. Fear not. What do you have to lose other than your life. And face it… whole military commands eat this ...

Curry is always a great perk-up for turkey.
I'd love to try this one someday!

Re: "Micro" Take-alongs...

Very good post for me. The toothpaste in the tiny container is a great idea. The big tube takes up space and you only need a little on the trail "Down at the Dollar Store"... Seems like that's how I start every post. Anyway, I did find some micro toothbrushes. One or two use, 4 inches lon...

Re: "Micro" Take-alongs...

It was interesting to notice that the "minimus" site had the Bridgeford "MRE" sandwiches in the breakfast selections.
I only browse for a couple of minutes, but it's definitely a link worth having.
Thx

It also certainly doesn't hurt to toss your peanut butter or cheese pouch into the chest pocket of your shirt while you get the rest of the meal in order. They don't need as much kneading...

Re: Slovenian Ration - Type B - Part 2

You know... It seems like a really nice gift for anybody you happen to know who could end up overseas with the military would be to give them one of the long handed titanium spoons. They run less than $10, and there's a hole for a lanyard so they're less likely to get lost.

Re: Thanks rattattoo!

Glad you liked it, Yak! That's a "no" on the OldD stuff. All of the Mil-spec stuff looked pretty much like Mil-spec stuff that would be in rations. The rest was my overzealous Fell-Off-A-Truck Stop purchases. I had expected a bunch of it to get used up at the last of my hammock hangs back ...

Re: SPAM

I may have already contributed this when we have discussed SPAM™ previously, but it's always worth tossing out... "SUPPOSEDLY..." one of the reasons that it became so popular with the natives in the South Pacific Islands during and after World War II was that it "supposedly" tast...
