Re: MRE "wish list"

I really like the idea of adding a Ziploc on the MRE bag. We have previously mentioned in this same discussion that the demographic target is the 19-year-old stud in the sand. And he may not be as sensitive in either his taste buds or his political correctness, but to me it seems like a shame and a ...

Re: Meatball Marinara TOTM

Yeah. I really like to eat well when I'm out in the woods, even if it's just an MRE. I need to remember that one of the great advantages of the menu page here on MRE INFO is that I can look at it and see what might be lacking in the bag, or what might just be made a bit better with some forethought ...

Re: MRE "wish list"

Yeah, Rockyraab... I keep forgetting about the intended demographic for these darn things.
Maybe they just need to enlist/promote some more hard-core moms to Master Sgt.

MRE "wish list"

rationtin440 asked us for a wish list of International rats, and it went nowhere... so, instead: What would you guys like to see show up in regular old USA rats? I for one, would like to see some actual vegetable side dishes. Down at my local Fell-Off-a-Truck-Stop I can pick up packages of Indian fo...

Re: Meatball Marinara TOTM

Thanks for the wrap-up. I have a couple of these that are getting outdated and I need to use them up.
Maybe I can put up up some sort of little pouch of garlic butter spread for a package of the white snack bread. I have an s-pile of those to use up. Make it like a gourmetty Iy-talian meal.

2014 Menus

Has anyone heard anything about the new menus for MREs?
Seems like there should have been plenty of time to set them for contracting by now...

Re: Filled French Toast and Maple Muffintop

Thank you 'Yak. I started using a really small 13 L pack with the bladder for my "go walkabout" kit. Stuff gets jammed in pretty tight. BTW: I started a blog about my adventures trying to get my aging behind back into the woods more often. Gear, tips, some photos, some rambling... Come on by and che...

Re: Beef Brisket, Menu 7. Pic warning.

Kiwi-- that's funny that you would want TootsieRolls.
When I saw the line on the menus that indicated the candy might be toffee, I was hoping for hard candy stuff like Callard & Bowster's... Like you Brits and Colonials have.
I was super disappointed when I found out it was Tootsie Rolls.

Re: Filled French Toast and Maple Muffintop

Thanks. They surely look, or sound, good. I suspected that the hot rock trick would work well with them.
How do they survive packing 'em around?

Filled French Toast and Maple Muffintop

Has anybody on here tried these out recently ?
I was thinking about picking up some of them, but figured I would ask you folks first...
