I'd love to do the review. I'm a big lamb fan. Never seen it in an MRE before.

Re: Scored again!

I'm a bit surprised that the Stateside commissary price is as high as it is. I usually pay $7.99 for loose meals down at our local Army Barracks store, and thought it seemed a bit high. This makes me feel a little bit better. Now, if I could just find a source for a couple of First Strike Rations th...

Slow load times here???

Is it just me, or my provider, or are page-load times here on MRE Info really dragging in the last few days?

Re: Cheeseburger in a can...

I saw one of these opened up on a site sometime within the last year. It was fairly scary just to look at. I'll stick to the new spam slices in the retort pouch, thank you... Now... One of the British canned steak and mushroom pies... hummmm? I used to be able to get them all the time when I lived d...

Re: Japanese Curry in retort pouch

BTW to Norton: If you lack experience with curries... they go best with chicken and seafood, and lamb is absolutely excellent! They just don't do much with beef and pork... don't know why. Try one with some of the store-bought retort pouch Pink Salmon. That ought to be a fine combo! [Or the #24 Buff...

Re: Japanese Curry in retort pouch

I can almost always find retort pouches of Indian curries and other Indian food in the food department over at The-Fell-Off-a-Truck-Stop. They only run $2.00 US and have an excellent shelf-life. The best thing is that they are very favorful without being too hot [no next morning regrets] and as vege...

Re: 2006 Beef & Veg MRE

...for hiking trips to cut down on weight. But I still need a stove for coffee, I am still working on the packing list. Look into making a little "pop can" alcohol stove. They are the perfect thing for heating water. Here's a link to four or five blog posts I've done on stoves over at "Moosenut Fal...

2006 Beef & Veg MRE

As I have mentioned several times previously, I tend to be an end-user for my MRE's. Generally, my own habit is to repack the meals to cut down on the bulk. IMG_2994.JPG I had a beef and vegetable meal dated 2006 that I had repacked in this shorty thermos to carry in my car. [the printing on the pac...

What ARE these nut-cakes of which you speak so fondly... never seen one... from when?
