Re: Newer 2011 MRE items

Interesting looks like they are cutting the ounces help to save weight! I remember those days well on Ft. Lewis of cleaning out the SGM's Stryker after a field exercise and just chunking out bunches of full and partial MRE's by the motorpool.

Re: Looks like new FSR's are on the way!

I read on one of those articles that the Army is also going to be requesting that vendors improve the nutritional content of the MRE and FSR as well as the new UGR, lowering the sodium content, lowering the bad saturated fat content and removing totally trans-fats and improving protein content in so...

Re: Case Of LRRP Rations On Ebay

Yea, they went for a good price too. Does not look like there is alot of food in each one either, to me it would be kind of disappointing to open one up and see what you have to look forward to for lunch.... But then again the weight savings is a trade off!

Re: Military boots

Alot of US Army soldiers are wearing hiking type boots now in Afghanistan. I had a pair of Asolo (Forgot style name) boots and Scarpa (Kailash). They were both GREAT but were a bit warm for summer use. They were of solid construction and the soles held up great, the Asolo's wore out quicker than the...

Yep looks like they are going the first strike route as well but they still need to cut out that big cardboard box. Wonder if Bridgeford is making special flavor sandwiches for them.

Re: Is there Monosodium Glutamate in your MRE's?

Speaking of MSG, I was just checking out a UGR Tray - Corned Beef Hash - production of 2007 made by the Wornick Co. Sure enough has Monosodium Glutamate listed as an ingredient..... First time I have seen MSG in a MRE.
