Re: Bundeswehr pea stew freezedried

Nice review! This "group feeding menu" looks similiar to my "pea stew with bacon", also made by Veris, I got from a comrade´s "EPA, leicht". I haven´t opened it yet, but I expect something similiar to your "group meal". How was the consistency, btw? Rather watery or like a real "Eintopf"? Little sto...

Re: MRE Info First Strike Ration

Treesuit, the price of the rations is definately not the problem. 10 Dollars is a great price for a 24-hour ration, and especially for a 95% copy of a highly-desired FSR. The only thing that gives me headaches are the insane shipping prices. I´m new to over-seas shipping, so I did not expect the shi...

Re: MRE Info First Strike Ration

Thanks for the detailed info, Treesuit! 10 Dollars per bag is a more than good price, but my main concern are the shipping prices and costums. I just checked the USPS shipping prices and as far as I can see they want 44 Dollars for a medium box, so for 2 FSRs the price would be around 65 Dollars (ar...

Re: MRE Info First Strike Ration

Great idea, indeed! I´m really interested in trying one out, because I´d love to get a FSR but due to the problems you described, Treesuit, it´s nearly impossible to get a genuine one if you don´t want to sell some of your organs. Firstly, I´d like to be interested in the price, of course. Unfortuna...

Re: My First RCIR - Menu #2

EBay Germany has a guy who sells them en masse. They´re a bit pricey, though. I paid 20 Euro for mine including shipping. But I´m not sure if he ships them to the States and how much more expensive they´ll be, then.

Re: French 2008 RCIR, Menu No. 4

Alright, 2nd part of my review: Milk and hot chocolate: First I tried the hot chocolate. Just like the milk it´s quite easy to make. Just put some hot water into a cup, add the powder and stir. The hot chocolate was atleast for my taste a bit watery and rather dull. I had to add some sugar in order ...

French 2008 RCIR, Menu No. 4

After browsing EBay for military rations I found a seller who sells French and British rations. At first I wanted to buy a Brit ration but a friend of mine who served in the Franco-German Brigade told me how good French rations are. Therefore I ordered the well-known RCIR to test for myself if our w...

Re: FOOD PACKET SURVIVAL GENERAL PURPOSE Date Packed 9125

Thanks for the explanations, guys! Seems like that Wintergreen plant is some sort of cure-all and the tablets are both a "morale safer" and healthy. Nice to learn something new, I didn´t even knew that there is such a thing as the Wintergreen plant!
