Re: 2020 German EPA's

Oh Housil. You say you don't like soup? Watch that movie, Kelly's Hero's, when Kelly captured the German Officer behind enemy line, and drove the jeep by the mud-hole and sprayed the German Soldiers with mud, they were eating soup. LOL

Re: New here. Brit.

MRE's basically suck, but something to put in the belly, and with the amount of troops we have, there is a cost factor verses mission. Euro 24 Hr. rations are way better, and us Americans love to get our hands on them when possible. Canadian IMP's are also superior to MRE's, but there is a lot less ...

Re: Why do you eat?

My Dad was U.S. Army Signal Corps, I was U.S. Army Infantry. When I was about 12 years old, My Dad bought 2 cases of MCI at a gunshow. That hooked me, for life. I was a test subject when the MRE replaced the MCI in the early '80's. Trying other countries rats is just fun. Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda.

I hope the Krauts never get rid of that Brotaufstrich Butter. GOLD YUMMY. Why do you think the German Soldiers were issued 'butter cans' in WW2.

Swedish Swedish Meatballs

If going to try a Swedish ration, might as well get the one with the Swedish meatballs. 430 gram. There were 12 little meatballs, same size as US MRE Meatballs in Marinara sauce. Lots of potato chunks. Excellent stuff. Two thumbs up. :D

Italian Turkey

For Thanksgiving prep, I boiled the can for 10 minutes, and broke out a pack of Biscotto crackers. Very nice. :D

Mre Cheese/Peanut Butter net wt.

From the 2017 packed case I opened, they dropped the net content weight of both the peanut butter and cheese packs to 1.0 oz. from earlier 1.5 oz. WTF Over? 2 of the best mre comfort food components. :(

Re: Coffee, Instant Type I & II question

The newer tan packs of spray-dried should hold up forever, just like the old school packs from MCI's and '80's MRE's. The tan packs of freeze dried will hold OK as lone as the Mfr./packing process was in spec for the particular batch.

Re: MRE 2019 Menus

Now that #7 is interesting, man. Beef strips in a tomato sauce? Sounds like they tryed to copy the German EPa Hamburgers in Tomato Sauce. Seems the Germans discontinued that main for a couple of years, then brought it back, due to popular demand. I'll be looking for that #7 and yes, probably be disa...
