I ve used a lot of these rations in my time ,they broke down well and were good as a light patrol ration ,in fact the mains were made in New Zealand and are very similar to the ones in the Aussie patrol ration reviewed here a few weeks ago davy

totally bombproof ,so easy to work on too, with loads of space ,I loved that truck

Oh dear, I was torn between answering this or ignoring it,the person writing it has never fired the sa80. I would donate money to any charity to see you doing it ,but it's easy to say if we can't see it done . I didn't understand your take on the extraction/ ejection setup in both sa80 or the L1A1/F...

I think you ll be lucky to find one of those mess kits
Better with a bcb mini mess tin or a trangia mini mess tin ,
The bcb one is used in uk pilot survival kit

I had a look at this subject a few years ago and the feedback was that it was done to circumvent the original patent .
The original patent mentions salt in the "recipe" ,this maybe enough as get around it ,
