Re: Strange places where you found MREs

When I was a teenager back in the 80's, I was picking up dog poop with a friend in his back yard. I found a C-ration can of scrambled eggs and ham buried in the ground. I ate it. Does that count? When you say, "I ate it", I really hope you were referring to the buried can of scrambled eggs and not ...

Re: New MRE's from MRE Nation

I just placed an order myself on MRE Nation. Sadly he is now out of stock of all his Extreme line but I got many separate components that I've been wanting to try and I made my own custom MRE. It's a genius idea and he has been able to source items above and beyond the standard US mains.

(And in a pinch, I can still use the salt water in my eyes, too.)
Don't forget that it also works quite well directly applied to your enemies wounds.

Steamed pork got the USDA stamp of approval? Interesting and confusing. Maybe something to do with steam prep?

Re: Canadian Mil Ration Podcast Episode

This is the latest episode (~26 minutes) of a Canadian defence reporter's podcast, focusing on rations ... [ Just spotted it, so I haven't listened yet, but thought you'd might enjoy it. Thanks, that was very interesting. I do have to agree that the canadians have very good meals as I have been luc...

Re: First strike bars!

I've actually never came across a Soldier Fuel bar in any of the IMPs I've had. They didn't show up often, and I don't know if they still include them or not. I don't usually get the breakfast menus though, so perhaps they show up more often in those cases. That's funny. I've had 2 IMPs in my time ...

Re: First strike bars!

If I recall the energy bars in Canadian rations are somewhat similar and are also commercially available if not a little hard to find; but, you can buy them on Amazon. Perhaps someone more familiar with the Canadian IMPs can offer an opinion on how similar they are to the first strike bar. (I would ...

Re: Items you wish were mre but never have and or never will be one

Well.... There is DMS, dried malt extract, so with that you could make beer on the go... you could get something with alcohol in something like two days actually... i would be something that horrifies any beer expert but it would still be booze on the go... There we go. Package that with some alka-...
