Re: 1974 Spaghetti with Beef Chunks MCI Review

No, those had been removed a few years earlier IIRC.

Re: The inventor of the peelable seal?

Did he also invent the orange peel? He's probably got quite the resume.

Re: Thank you ColdWxMREguy

I've also purchased rations from Kurt aka ColdWxMREGuy, but via eBay and email. I've had nothing but good experiences and communication.

Burning a Flameless Ration Heater

Let me preface this by saying I did something very stupid tonight. I had a nice fire going and decided I would be clever and throw in an FRH from an MRE. This was all in the name of science of course. At first, it went along nicely as the top portion of the heater burned. It wasn't too exc...

1974 Spaghetti with Beef Chunks MCI Review

I was at an army surplus store a few months ago and saw an opened case of MCIs with individual meals for sale. They were $30 each and by the way they looked, I thought they were asking a bit too much. But I was tempted to get one anyway, so I did. I put it in my closet and forgot about it until I wa...

Re: Favorite LRP/RCW main?

Until recently it was the Turkey Tetrazzini, then I got sick after eating some. Now I go right for the Oriental Rice and Chicken. I love that one, it even has water chestnuts which is interesting. They end up being kind of chewy after adding water.

PHP errors when using the search function

I've noticed that this site will throw back PHP errors when I search something occasionally. I attached an example. Here, I searched "backpackers" and while the first page worked, the second page is what gave me the error. Here's the URL: http://www.mreinfo.com/forums/search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=po...

2002 Chicken with Noodles MRE Review

Today I decided to live dangerously and eat one of my least favorite MRE menus. Chicken with Noodles is still produced today, but I had the 2002 version so I decided I should eat it, document it and be done with it! Actually, the fun of eating an MRE usually makes up for a subpar menu. On with the r...

Re: TIP: Quoting parts of a forum post

This is where the importance of "trust, but verify" weighs in. Of course, it's possible to misquote someone but it's always important to double check the original post, especially if it's something that appears outrageous. It has its uses too, for example if someone deletes a previous post, someone ...
