Re: Prized ration?

A WW2 K-ration breakfast unit that a buddy here in the forums hooked me up with. It sits in a glass display case in my man cave next to my WW2 D-ration. One non-ration, but ration-related item that I particularly like is my original Civil War folding spoon. When I hold it always makes me wonder who ...

Re: Help with Russian Ration ID

It sounds like you already got an answer, but I wanted to let you know another clue that can help. In the lower right of the label is the calorie count, and for the three variants, the caloric range is 3,500-3,700. The mountain ration has around 5,000.

Am i mistaken or was that a vegetarian ration(no meat) ?

If so, thats the first non-meat Russian ration I've seen! Sweet!
The borscht did have meat. It was labeled as "Siberian borscht with meat". Not sure what kind, presumably beef. You're right, it would've been a first though!

24-Hr Russian SPECPIT Expedition Ration - Part 2

Hey rationauts, here is part 2 of the review. The only downside of these types of rations is that you need to have the implements necessary to boil water, as well as the time. These aren't the best for eating on the move, but if you're settled into camp or taking a nice meal break along your journey...

Seems very similar to the now-defunct IRP-BS rations. These look great!
Very similar, indeed!

Wow, that's a fresh one for sure. Good catch Norge!

I like the soup in that packaging, that's the first one I've seen like that.

24-Hr Russian SPECPIT Expedition Ration - Part 1

Hey everyone. It's been quite awhile since I've done a review, so I thought I should get my rear in gear and get to it. Those who know me on here know that I prefer doing written reviews, so that's what this will be. I'll do it in two parts, the unboxing first, then the more fun part where I get to ...
