Re: Previously unknown PLA rations

Those T rations don't look half bad, but I have always wondered about the quality of the PLA rations in general though.

They also make a protective "body" bag which a NBC casualty can be placed - the US version uses the C420 PAPR.

Re: Estate Sale Purchase - Late 80's Prepper

In my opinion, the LRRP rations in the green bag are from the 1970's and the LRRP rations in the brown bag could either be from the late 1970's, or probably more likely the 1980's.

Re: Estate Sale Purchase - Late 80's Prepper

Great find! So I have never heard of SI Equipment LTD. But I found this online in an old archive; SI Equipment Ltd., 17019 Kingsview, Carson, CA 90746. One of the most comprehensive catalogs for the survivalist. Except for the self-defense books by Tegner and a couple of overpriced pamphlets, you ca...

Re: Review: 1989 Ration, Cold Weather (RCW) Components, Part 1

Nice review! I agree, all of those RCW oatmeals were indeed VERY good, very creamy, flavorful and a LARGE serving indeed. Sadly, I actually never liked the fruit soup, so it used to go in the trash or to a friend after I ate everything else. To me the nut-raisin mix always had a weird processed tast...

Re: MCI Pound cake

Sadly I have never had a MCI pound cake that was edible. While they may smell good, (I have had multiples that smell perfect), when you taste them you can immediately tell they are bad.
