Today I opened a spare Cherry nut cake packed in 1986 I had laying around. don't know how it have been stored before my storage but It was surprisingly good. 005.jpg 006.jpg 007.jpg 008.jpg the nuts was a bit dark but not bitter, could taste the cherry's real nice so it was just like the old times ...

Would be interesting to know if any of it is edible. While I highly doubt it is, you never know... If stored in the proper conditions maybe. You do have to watch out for those cans though, as they do tend to "alter" the taste and appearance of the food inside.

Nice pics! That ration actually doesn't look bad. Hopefully the meals are better than the Travellunch meals that seem to come in other European countries freeze dried rations.

The stamped name on the can is throwing me off... Not sure if I have seen a US ration stamped like that.

They are marked "UN Consumption only". Hence I bet they were probably made by "Vestey Foods" or one of the other UK ration contractors for UN troops.
